In 1946, the company managing the factory was nationalized, and in 1953 it was renamed TON, which stands for Továrna Ohýbaného Nábytku (Bent Furniture Factory). This factory, continuously operational since 1861, is renowned as the birthplace of the iconic Chair 18, Chair 14, and Chair 811.
